Brachiopod – Mediospirifer audaculus

Description

Totally complete, pyritized brachiopod (Mediospirifer audaculus) showing species and hinge detail. This specimen is from the Devonian Period, Silica Formation and was found in Sylvania, Ohio.

The specimen appears lighter in colour, in the pictures, than in reality.
